Trane uses unique Spine Fin™ coils, which look like a bottle brush. Standard wire brushes used on other brands will destroy these aluminum spines instantly. We use a specialized chemical wash that foams out the dirt from deep inside the coil without bending the delicate fins, restoring full airflow and efficiency.

While the manual says every 6-12 months, in NYC's polluted environment, we recommend checking the pre-filter every 2-3 months. If the LED lights on the panel are flashing, the collection cells are overloaded. This is a communication error common in ComfortLink™ II systems. It means the thermostat, indoor unit, and outdoor unit stopped "talking" to each other. Do not replace the thermostat yet! This is a frequent issue with Nexia™ smart home controls. The bridge needs to be re-paired with the new network credentials.
